Rightsizing

The Rightsizing scheme can help you move to a smaller home, if your home has more bedrooms than you need. You may also qualify for financial and practical support. 

Why consider Rightsizing?

Financial incentive

You could receive up to £3,000 to help with the cost of moving and settling into your new home. We pay £1,000 for each bedroom you free up, up to a maximum of £3,000.

Moving support

We know moving home can feel like a big step. As part of the service, we can help with:

• finding a suitable property
• arranging removals
• setting up utility accounts
• benefit claims
• disposing of unwanted items
• accessing the Handyperson Service

Who can apply?

You may be eligible if you are a Derby City Council or Derby Homes tenant who is living in a home with more bedrooms than you need.
