Our Anti-social Behaviour and Community Safety Officer Apprentice will work alongside our ASB Team who work in partnership with a wide range of partner agencies including the Police, Derby City Council & other public & private sector organisations.

You will learn a range of skills and gain a great deal of on the job experience throughout your apprenticeship

Working closely with experienced colleagues you'll be receiving reports of ASB & assessing risk of victims, identifying safeguarding concerns and making appropriate referrals as well as working with partners to develop effective solutions and managing and preparing cases for court action.

You'll be given relevant training to help you achieve a future career with Derby Homes or with another employer.

The qualification you will gain at the end of the apprenticeship is the Anti-social Behaviour & Community Safety Apprenticeship standard Level 4.

The training programme is a blended learning approach, supported by online learning. Learners will upload their work and assessors/manager can monitor progress.

Our apprentice electrician will work alongside our experienced repairs operatives in various teams. You will learn a range of skills and gain a great deal of on the job experience throughout your apprenticeship. You will be expected to carry out all aspects of electrical installation work to the required standard.

Electricians install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial and domestic environments. Electricians might work in both indoor and outdoor settings. Electrical equipment and systems may include switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning and metering equipment as well as crime and fire alarm systems and renewable energy technologies. 

You will be expected to attend college and achieve the Installation & Maintenance Electrician Level 3 apprenticeship qualification.

The apprentice joiner will work alongside our experienced repairs operatives in various teams. You will learn a range of skills and gain a great deal of on the job experience throughout your apprenticeship, including first and second fixing (door frames, hanging doors, boxing pipes, window frames and floor joists). 

You will be expected to attend college and achieve the Carpentry & Joinery Level 2 apprenticeship qualification.

The apprentice plasterer will work alongside our experienced repairs operatives in various teams. You will learn a range of skills and gain a great deal of on the job experience throughout your apprenticeship, including preparing walls and ceilings for decoration and finishing.  

You will be expected to attend college and achieve the Plasterer Level 2 apprenticeship qualification.

The apprentice surveyor will work in our Investment and Repairs team. You will learn a range of skills and gain a great deal of on the job experience throughout your apprenticeship, from collecting information from site inspections to inform advice on land, property or construction.

You will be expected to attend college and achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Surveying.

Our apprentice plumber will work alongside our experienced Repairs operatives in various teams. You will learn a range of skills and gain a great deal of on the job experience throughout your apprenticeship, including installing and maintaining domestic hot water, cold water, sanitation, drainage, rain water systems, central heating systems and components. 

You will be expected to attend college and achieve a Plumbing and Heating Technician Level 3 apprenticeship qualification.

This apprenticeship is customer facing and you will be primarily responsible for the administrative work needed to support the creation and sustainment of successful tenancies.

This apprenticeship could be your first steps to a variety of careers in housing and other similar professions.

We are seeking a motivated and professional individual to join our Health and Safety Team.

Derby Homes’ business covers activities from housing management to construction and new build and the successful candidate will be able to cover all of the diverse experience required to enable successful completion of this apprenticeship.

Duties will include providing assistance to Health Safety team members in all day to day health and safety activities including:

  • accident investigations
  • audits
  • inspections
  • provision of training
  • noise and vibration monitoring
  • health and safety policy development
