Electrician Joe Johnson won the Apprentice of the Year at the Building Communities Awards.

A huge congratulations to Electrician Joe Johnson who won Apprentice of the Year at the Building Communities Awards.

This follows his Intermediate/Advanced Apprentice of the Year award in the Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Apprenticeship Awards back in October.

It was another proud evening for everyone connected to Derby Homes.

He said:
"After winning the first award last year, I didn’t think that I would win again, even more so at a bigger event. To win two awards for Apprentice of the Year is an amazing achievement and something that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
Employee Development and Corporate Support Manager Sophie Bancroft added:
“I am immensely proud of Joe, he takes it all in his stride.

“I think he has got used to me nominating him now and I really hope this inspires future apprentices at Derby Homes and what they can achieve.

“We are over the moon for Joe and this is a great success story for Derby Homes too and we had a fab night in the process!”
Joe joined us in 2018 to start the Level 3 Electrical Installations Apprenticeship with Derby College and has shown determination and commitment since.

He successfully completed his qualification with 100% in all modules on his end point assessment which is a rare achievement.

He has also been nominated for a Housing Heroes award. We'll let you know if he's shortlisted and could potentially get an amazing hat-trick later this year!
