Health and safety
We have a duty to provide safe and healthy working conditions for all employees and anyone else using our buildings and facilities.
We take all reasonable steps to comply with relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice, and provide the necessary resources to secure safe working conditions and procedures for all employees.
In 2015 Derby Homes won the prestigious RoSPA Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety for the nineth year in a row. We were the first housing ALMO in the country to receive the RoSPA Gold Award, and are delighted to have held on to the award for a nineth time. Retaining this award is a reflection of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety for all tenants and their families, and for our staff and contractor’s staff.
Derby Homes’ initiatives include a Health and Safety forum, which meets bi-monthly to scrutinise performance and contribute to the active management of health and safety. Derby Homes also offers health information for staff, and helps to make tenants safer in their homes by providing fire safety checks, in partnership with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.
