Housing Benefit Surgeries
Our income management team provides free advice to tenants and leaseholders on Housing Benefit
We can help if you:
- Are struggling to pay your rent
- Need advice on what benefits you may be entitled to
- Are affected by under-occupancy or the benefit cap
- Have any benefit letters you are struggling to understand or respond to
- Do not agree with a decision that has been made about your Housing and Council Tax Benefit claim
At our Housing Benefit Surgeries we can:
- Help you to manage your rent account
- Fill in and check Housing and Council Tax Benefit claim or review forms
- Make sure that you provide the right proof needed for your claim
- Help you to understand any Housing and Council tax Benefit letters
- Identify any other benefits you may be able to apply for
- Give you details for other services that might be useful
We also have links with East Midlands Credit Union who have accounts available to help manage your finances. When Universal Credit is introduced, the Housing Benefit element will be paid directly in to the claimants account. The accounts available enable you to automatically set aside money to be paid for your rent and other bills. Please contact us if you would like further information, or visit www.emheartcu.coop
