In memory of Phil Davies
In memory of Phil Davies, our Chief Executive, who dedicated his professional life to housing and making things better for "our tenants".
Phil was our Chief Executive ever since Derby Homes was created in 2002. He had previously worked at Derby City Council's Housing Department since 1986 as Assistant Director and then Director.
His career in housing saw him working around the country at Wigan Council, Metropolitan, Wolverhampton, Tamworth and Dudley Borough Councils. He was also actively involved in many national housing bodies across the country, such as the Chartered Institute of Housing and as a board member of the Social Landlords Crime and Nuisance Group.
As well as his work in the social housing sector, Phil was also a Voluntary Regional Committee member for the mental health charity Rethink.
Phil was always involved in all kind of activities around the company, from staff, tenant and charity events to having recently completed the Derbyshire 2012 10K run.
He was a well respected man who always took the time to talk to staff, to ask how they were and how things were going. He loved Derby Homes and was always focused on improving the lives of our tenants.
We will miss you, Phil.
