Value for Money

Value for money- what’s it all about?

Value for money, or VFM as it’s often called, is about getting the best possible service for our customers from the resources we have available.  Think of it as the three ‘Es’:

Effectiveness - doing things right

Efficiency - doing things in the right way

Economy - doing things at the right price.

It’s about making your pounds and pence go further by working harder to maintain high performance. Some of the ways we’ll do this in 2011/12 include:

  • letting our empty properties faster, so we don’t lose out on rental income
  • encouraging more customers to use the telephone or website to contact us, and
  • implementing a new computer system to make us more efficient and reduce the amount of paperwork in our offices.

Our objective

To provide excellent services by embedding a culture of Value for Money throughout the organisation to make sure we meet the needs of all of our customers.

Importance of this work

The delivery of excellent services will be achieved by considering the balance between cost and quality.

How can you let us know your views?
