Religion and Belief Regulations Policy and Procedure

This policy applies to all Derby Homes' employees.  It explains the meaning of religion or belief with reference to the regulation.The policy defines:

  • direct discrimination
  • indirect discrimination
  • genuine occupational requirement
  • harassment
  • victimisation.

The policy also gives advice on:

  • religious observance in the workplace
  • the implication of religion and belief on recruitment and promotion
  • the implication of religion and belief for training
  • religious belief and food
  • time off for religious festivals
  • time off for religious observance
  • dress code.
