Employees who have entered the draw should not be able to pick out the winning tickets. We could however invite the winning employee to be present at the next draw – we will look into this.

There are currently no plans to move Senior Housing Officers around. Their job descriptions were reviewed last year and their responsibilities for anti- social behaviour case management reinforced. Any differences in the way they work is a response to local area needs and priorities identified by their Housing and Neighbourhood Managers.

I am sorry if my comment about rewarding staff who haven’t had time off sick for more than 5 years was upsetting – that wasn’t my intention at all. I just thought that they should be recognised in some way.

I agree with the comment made 26.4.12, that the scheme does encourage people to come into work when they are not well. Sniffles and sore throats are not as concerning to me as those who come to work with upset tummies. At schools a child is not allowed back to school until 48 hours after the last bout of sickness or diarrhoea – we should adopt the same principle, as upset tummies are so infectious.

I think my point about when people retire has been missed. I totally agree that not everyone likes the official presentations etc and that yes each individual should be asked what they prefer. But it seems like SMT/staffing don’t even get the ball rolling when someone retires. As I said it is left to collegues to arrange. and usually beg a manager for extra money to pay for a cake or contribute a bit extra towards the food.

As regards the long service awards – that’s only for 25 years service – what about 30, 35, 40 and 40+ years – we don’t get any recognition for that. There are a lot of employees with 30+ years service!

Regarding the incentive draw, I think that it would be a good idea if staff members who have won the previous draw are required to make the next draw themselves and present the ‘cheque’ to the latest winner?

Is it true that the senior housing officers are being moved around? I have noticed that none of them seem to do the same job, why is this?
