Safety
We want all our tenants to feel comfortable safe and secure in their home.
We’ve been awarded the prestigious RoSPA Gold Award, which demonstrates our commitment to health and safety in the workplace, employees and our service users.
General safety
For your own personal safety and peace of mind, we would suggest that you always ask any caller for proof of their identity (they should all carry ID cards) and if any doubt, ask them to wait whilst you phone their office to check.
When we carry out work, we take all necessary precautions to protect our tenants and the general public. We have a safeguarding policy and will not be able to work in a property where there is an unaccompanied child.
We regularly inspect and monitor the standard of work our contractors do, and make any necessary changes or improvements. We also have an independent company doing quarterly audits.
To ensure extra security, comfort and peace of mind we provide:
- a programme in place to survey all our properties for asbestos. For more help or advice about asbestos, call us on 01332 711000.
- stair lifts
- fire equipment in communal spaces
- individual and communal door-entry systems. Many of these are vandal resistant with a video handset and lock-release button for the main door
- CCTV systems. These cameras enhance community safety by detecting crime and providing evidence for court proceedings, if necessary
- emergency call systems
- we also maintain burglar and smoke alarms.(please see the page on smoke alarms)

So you know who’s calling, the main contractors we use are Tersus UK for asbestos, Chubb Integrated Technologies for door entry, CCTV alarms and emergency call systems, Stannah Stair Lifts Ltd, The Mobility Equipment Company Ltd and Handicare Ltd for stair lifts, and Apollo Lifts Ltd for passenger lifts
