Garden Maintenance Scheme
The Garden Maintenance Scheme is open to Derby Homes tenants who have reached state retirement age or who are disabled and have no other able bodied person over the age of 18 living in the property.
Due to the popularity of the scheme, you may be placed on a waiting list. We’ll let you know as soon as you’ve been accepted. At this point, we’ll change your tenancy conditions to show, “Derby Homes accepts the responsibility for garden maintenance, and you will be charged for the service.”
How much does it cost?
There’s a small charge for the Garden Maintenance Scheme, which is added to your rent. For the latest costs, call us on 01332 711000.
What work will be done and when?
The scheme includes:
- grass cutting – 15 times a year
- border maintenance – six times a year
- hedge cutting – twice a year
- rose pruning – twice a year
- weed killing – as necessary or as instructed by the tenant.
We will do this work between March and October.
For more information, please contact the Enquiry Centre on 01332 711000 or your local housing office.
