Derby Homes Bright Ideas

Derby Homes runs a Bright Ideas Scheme for customers, contractors, staff and volunteers to encourage them to submit their ideas and suggestions about how we can improve the service we offer. The award levels available are: 

Monthly Encouragement Awards - £10 voucher

Paid to anyone submitting ideas that can be put into action quickly. The ideas will need to have been judged to have merit, be original and help us to improve our service. Payment of the Encouragement Award will be limited to a maximum of three a year to any one person.

Monthly Improvement Awards - £25 voucher

This award will be paid when an idea is implemented following approval from the Bright Ideas judging panel. 

Idea of the Quarter - £200 voucher

All improvement awards will be assessed every three months for the Idea of the Quarter. The winner will receive the quarterly award once it is shown that it has been implemented satisfactorily.

Idea of the Year - up to £2,000

The Idea of the Year will be chosen from the four quarterly winners. If the winner is a customer, they can choose to be paid by cheque or, if appropriate, through their rent account. If the winner is in arrears with their rent or service charge, or has any other debt to Derby Homes or Derby City Council, the award will be used to reduce this debt.

The judging panel

The judging panel will meet monthly and will consist of a board member, a tenant, a member of the Performance Team, a member of the Executive Team, and two members of staff - one of whom will be employed by a contractor of Derby Homes.

How to submit your idea

You can contact us about your Bright Ideas by printing the form on the right of this page, or by completing a Bright Ideas postcard which can be found at your Local Housing Office. Send your completed form to our Performance team at our Head Office.
