Neighbourhood Working
Neighbourhood working is a Derby City Council scheme, which brings local public services together in Neighbourhood Teams. This allows team partners such as Derby Homes, the Police and Fire Service, to work directly with the community to deal with crime and anti social behaviour in a pro-active way. One such team is the Neighbourhood and Environmental Action Team (NEAT) who are responsible for removing graffiti, fly tipping and litter.
Our five priority areas for Neighbourhood Working are Osmaston/Allenton, Stockbrook, Normanton, Sinfin and Austin. Each area has Community Safety Workers and Community Engagement Officers to help reduce crime and anti social behaviour, and promote community engagement.
Derby Homes Estates Pride is part-funding Neighbourhood Teams in these areas and hopes to extend the scheme to other parts of Derby.
