Councillor Board Members

Roy Webb

Roy has worked for Rolls-Royce for over 40 years and has represented Allestree Ward in the city since 1985, as both county and city councillor.  Roy is pleased to continue as a Board member and hopes his skills will be useful to Derby Homes.

Councillor Board Members

Margaret Redfern

Margaret is especially proud to be a local councillor for Derwent Ward and has been a school governor for many years at local schools in the area. As a Trustee on The Liversage Charity’s Board, she is particularly familiar with the specialist needs of housing of the more mature members of our community. As a mature student she gained a degree in economics at Nottingham University and still marvel at how this was achieved!

Being a Derby Homes Board Member is an opportunity to understand, challenge and work with tenants and staff to continually strive to provide the very best of services to tenants.

Bob Troup

Bob was elected in Blagreaves ward in 1999. He has served on the Board since 2002 apart from a two year stint as the Cabinet member responsible for housing. Bob is keen to see social housing developing in Derby and so to alleviate the dire shortage of suitable housing that blights so many lives.

Councillor Board Members

John Keith

John is a recently retired businessman having been a partner in a local electronic security installation company.

He previously served as a Councillor on Derby City Council for 15 years and was honoured to be Mayor in 1991/2.  John returned as Councillor for Mickleover Ward at the May 2011 elections and is delighted to be on the Board of Derby Homes.

During his previous time as a Councillor, the City Council itself carried out all the work involved in administration/maintenance of its council houses and at that time he could see the advantages of an arms length organisation, as Derby Homes is, taking over these duties.  John believes that this enables more focus in providing the best service to its customers and the interaction with its tenants is far superior.  As a Board Member, his main priority is to make sure there is a continual improvement in both services offered and the relationship between Derby Homes and its tenants
