Improve target setting and monitoring. Adopt a forward thinking approach under the principle of the employment/equality age regulations. Maintain an active training programme for all employees and Board members. Collect comprehensive customer profile information. To encourage more interest in living in the north of the City from BME groups.
Importance of this work Derby Homes is committed to promoting equal opportunities and valuing diversity. Our aim is equality for everyone who uses our services and works for Derby Homes. We recognise that we must have a workforce that is as diverse as the community we live in, so that we can provide the most effective services.
Targets Publish Derby Homes Equalities scheme by October 2007. Establish an annual programme of equality impact assessments and publish programme on Derby Homes website by November 2007. Introduce service standards by September 2007 and meet timescales in the delivery of aids and adaptations in 2007/08. Monitor the makeup of the workforce through national and local BVPIs on a quarterly basis and report this to Performance Management Committee. Achieve customer profiling information for 80% of tenancies by March 2008, and use information to inform business plan processes for 2008/09 review. During 2007/08 ensure that the percentage of BME tenants rehoused reflects the percentage of BME applicants on the housing register. Organise at least 3 events to celebrate cultural diversity during 2007/08, ensure that all events are accessible and add value for more than one group.
