Objective

Section Icon Arrow  Ensure the longer term sustainability of Derby Homes by demonstrating successful performance, developing the business and securing from the Government new freedoms and flexibilities.

Initiatives

Section Icon Arrow  Continue with leadership role in National Federation of ALMOs (NFA) at Board and Midlands level.
Section Icon Arrow  Use the Business Plan mission statement and strategic objectives as the framework for future business development.
Section Icon Arrow  Communicate effectively with tenants, leaseholders and staff on decisions affecting Derby Homes future.
Section Icon Arrow  Work to Finance Plan 2007-11 to achieve sustainable levels of income, expenditure and staffing.
Section Icon Arrow  Co-operate with Department for Communities and Local Government’s freedoms and flexibility review.
Section Icon Arrow  Address weaknesses highlighted in 2006 Audit Commission inspection report.
Section Icon Arrow  Develop positive relationship with the Council as our owner by achieving targets and managing services and finances.
Section Icon Arrow  Manage the business risks and improved performance through Committees of the Board.
Section Icon Arrow  Action plan for long-term future of Derby Homes based on consultant’s report considered at Board away day January 2007.
Section Icon Arrow  Further develop governance of Derby Homes through Governance Services Committee
Section Icon Arrow  Enhance reputation of Derby Homes through building effective relationship with the Council, other partners and the local media.

Importance of this work

Section Icon Arrow  Long-term business sustainability will enable us to develop and improve our services and reputation in the future.

Targets

Section Icon Arrow  Successfully re-negotiate Management Agreement by July  2007.
Section Icon Arrow  Improved customer satisfaction with landlord services in status surveys through 2007-11.
Section Icon Arrow  New build programme on site by December 2008.
Section Icon Arrow  Increased private sector and RSL business by 100 new customers a year through 2006-11.
Section Icon Arrow  Monitor freedoms and flexibilities pilots and produce Derby shadow figures within one month of publication of outcome of pilot.
