DERBY HOMES SERVICE PLAN 2008/09

Derby Homes operates within the Derby City Council Corporate Plan.  Our work is set against Council Corporate Strategies, Housing Strategic Objectives and Neighbourhood Renewal Strategies.  Our work fits within citywide objectives we share with other partners such as the police, social services, health services and schools. 

Derby City Council have agreed to a further 5 year contract with Derby Homes in April 2007, and we are hoping to receive extra freedoms from the Government in the near future which will help us provide an even better service for our tenants through additional resources.

However Derby Homes currently faces a reduction in the level of fee it will receive from 2006-2007 because of the numbers of Right to Buy sales of council houses and because of the reduction in capital funds that year and in the future. 

We have therefore prepared a financial plan that allows us to continue providing an excellent service on a reduced fee income . . . and at the same time we must seek new sources of fee by managing properties owned by other landlords and by providing new services that we can sell to our existing or new customers.

To ensure that we are working efficiently we have produced our Service Plan for 2007/08. These plans help each department know where they are going which will improve our services for our customers and improve the efficiency of our operations.
