Derby City Council

We are owned by the Council and are committed to helping the Council achieve its objectives.  Ward Councillors have close links with housing staff and attend Community Panels to discuss local concerns with tenants and staff. 

Derby Homes:
• works closely with Policy Directorate – to implement the Housing Strategy
• operates the Council’s allocations policy and gives priority to re-housing homeless applicants
• manages the Council’s homeless hostel and provides other temporary accommodation for homeless people
• works closely with Derby Benefits and Derby Advice to ensure council tenants obtain housing benefits and other benefits – Derby Benefits operate surgeries in local housing offices
• has close links with a number of schools on council estates and with the Education Youth Service that operates outreach services on council estates
• is working with Social Services to try and develop extra care services within sheltered housing schemes.




Derby City Council  - provides all local government services to the people who live in Derby, including schools, social services, environmental health and transportation.
