The Neighbourhood teams were set up in May 2007 and are responsible for bringing together local services such as the Police, Fire Service, Community Watch Patrols, Youth Services, and the NEAT team. By working together the Neighbourhood team identify issues on the estate and agree action plans to resolve them. This will result in better more efficient and effective service delivery to the community in the Mackworth, Chaddesden and Alvaston and Boulton Wards.

 Help residents to get involved in their community
 Improve fire safety

The Neighbourhood Managers and the Community Safety and Engagement Officers will be looking to engage the local community in the Mackworth, Chaddesden and Alvaston and Boulton wards to help empower them to take part in the decision making process on how services are delivered and how money is spent in their areas. They will be doing this via awareness raising events, leaflets informing what Neighbourhood working is and how residents can get involved and holding Neighbourhood forum meetings which will be chaired by the local Councillors.
