Moved - At Last !!!!!
We are pleased to say that we have finally moved into the office space on the ground floor of St Peters House – at long last!!
Many thanks go to our helpers who worked very hard straining their muscles to make sure that the ‘ladies’ didn’t have to do any heavy lifting (ha ha ha)
Things are fitting in quite nicely, thank goodness, a push here, a shove there; we will soon lick it into shape, so much so that visitors won’t know that we have only just moved!
We also had an Open Day on November 22nd, to show off our new office space, so thanks to all of you that came along to that, and we hope you like the look of the new place.
Christmas Lunch at the Cottage Inn Blackwell
On Wednesday 22nd November a group of 21 residents mainly from the Sussex Circus area went for a 3 course Christmas lunch at the Cottage Inn Blackwell nr Alfreton. The day started at about 10.30 when we started boarding the coach, we left Max Road Chaddesden at about 10.40am and arrived at the inn about 11.15. We arrived early so we had time for a drink and chat amongst ourselves before being shown to our tables at about 12.15. We finished lunch at about 1.15 and went back into the main bar to await the entertainment. We all thought we would be going in the room where the entertainment was but this was not the case as the room was full already with another coach party, where we were in the main bar we couldn’t hear the music or the DJ very well, we were supposed to be there till 4pm as we were going to have mince pies with brandy butter sauce. We were not happy at not being able to have a dance or hear the music so we complained and asked if we could have our mince pies as we were leaving early due to us not getting the entertainment as advertised and paid for. We did receive our pies but without the cream.

DACP Christmas Party - Derby Engineers Club 15th December
The annual tenants’ Christmas Party was another resounding success, with over 160 tenants attending and having a great time. There was a great buffet and music and entertainment from ‘Billy Anthony’, singing songs old and new on request. The raffle was well received with lots of prizes, tickets being sold by Harry and Alice.
See you all again in the New Year !!
