Neighbourhood Working
This is a new Derby City Council scheme whereby all public services will be provided at a local level through Neighbourhood Teams. This project brings together a host of partners including the Police
and the Fire Service
, in a pro-active approach to Anti-Social Behaviour
and criminal damage and will be delivered in 5 priority areas.
• Osmaston/Allenton (already operating)
• Stockbrook (due to go live in September 2006)
• Normanton (already operating)
• Sinfin (due to go live in September 2006
• Austin (launch date yet to be confirmed)
The Teams will include a NEAT (Neighbourhood and Environmental Action) Team, who will remove graffiti, fly tipping and litter (including drug litter). Estates Pride is part-funding Neighbourhood Teams in these areas and hopes to be able to extend the schemes into other parts of Derby.
Community Safety Workers and Community Engagement Officers will be stationed in each of the priority areas. The Officers intend to reduce levels of crime and anti-social behaviour and promote community engagement.
Any issues in the areas where the teams are active can be phoned through on the Derby Direct number: 01332 255260
