Makeover for Normanton
The Derby Homes managed properties listed below in the Normanton area are made up of small squares, courtyard parking and interconnected pathways. These have become run down in recent years. Unfortunately, this has led to some instances of anti social behaviour.

Improvement work has recently taken place in the following streets:
• Peterhouse Terrace
• Yates Street
• Richmond Road
• Leonard Walk
• Alder Walk.
Overgrown and unhealthy shrubs have been replaced with easy to maintain, low growing plants and bark mulch has been laid. Metal fencing has been installed to provide better-defined boundaries. This has allowed residents to take ‘ownership’ of their estate.
Overgrown trees and bushes have been cut back and green areas are now smarter and more attractive. The amount of antisocial behaviour has reduced and the area now feels a more pleasant and safer place to be.
The project was kindly funded by SRB, URBAN II, as well as Derby Homes Estates Pride Programme.
Estate Regeneration Officers will be carrying out home safety advice visits to residents in the area during September.
