Equalities
We are committed to equality, both in employment and in the services we deliver. One of the key aims of our Equalities Policy is to achieve a balanced and diverse workforce. We welcome applications from all groups and communities.
3.6% of the workforce in Derby Homes are disabled employees and we have been awarded the 'two ticks positive about disabled people' award by Employment Services.
Within Derby Homes 16.1% of the workforce are minority ethnic employees. Of the top 5% of earners within the organisation, 10% are minority ethnic employees. Derby Homes has a BME Officers support group which meets regularly during the year to discuss issues, concerns and to promote positive action and promotion within the organisation.
63% of the workforce are women. At the executive level within the organisation there is 50% representation of women. Of the top 5% of earners within the organisation, 30% are women.
Derby Homes have recently contracted the services of a company called Equality Works to help to develop and improve our Equalities agenda. We will establish Equalities Champions throughout the organisation to take a lead on all equalities issues.
