Employee Development

Team working is central to our work. Working together and supporting each other helps to make Derby Homes a positive place to work.


We have achieved the Charter Mark Award# and have the Investors in People Standard#. We have a Staff Development Charter. We have also recently developed a Leadership Charter#.

All employees contribute to the business plan. Each team produces its own plan. This is used to identify both team and individual training needs. Copies of the Business Plan are available to every employee. Objectives from each team’s business plan are fed through to individuals Achievement & Development meetings.

Induction

All new employees receive a comprehensive induction programme. On your first day someone from our personnel section will meet with you to sort out all of the contractual paper work. You will also receive your name badge and security card. In addition we give you a Personal Development Portfolio for you to record all of your training and development.

Over the first two weeks your line manager will draw up a personal induction programme to help you get settled in your new role. Throughout the year we run an Induction session for all new employees. This provides an overview of Derby Homes and gives you an opportunity to meet our Chief Executive and other members of Senior Management Team.
