People in Derby who pay their council tax or council housing rent in cash will be able to do so at any of 51 PayPoint agents in the city from 1 December.
Derby City Council and Derby Homes are introducing the new arrangement to increase the number of payment locations available to customers.
Derby Homes will be closing 11 cash offices on 23 December and PayPoint will offer another alternative in addition to the many other ways that tenants can pay their housing rent and council tax.
The organisation, which manages and maintains council housing on behalf of the Council, says that the new arrangement should prove more convenient to most tenants, given that PayPoint outlets have longer opening hours than the cash offices.
All Derby Homes’ tenants will be receiving information about PayPoint locations and alternative payment methods in the post. Notices advertising the end of cash collection will be in all Offices, and staff will be able to explain the alternative payment methods. A list is also available from Derby Homes local housing offices, by visiting www.derbyhomes.org or by contacting 01332 711085. |
