MARIA’S NEW ROLE AS DIRECTOR

Derby Homes has appointed Maria Murphy as its new Director of Housing and Customer Service.

Maria (39) has spent her housing services career in Derby, where she has worked for 22 years.  During this time, she has worked in and with local housing offices. 

For the past four years, Maria has been Housing Manager for Derby Homes, the arms length management organisation which manages council homes in Derby for the City Council.  This role has included responsibility for delivering frontline services.

Over her career, Maria describes her best achievement so far as leading the housing frontline services to a three star report when inspected by the Audit Commission in 2002.

Dennis Rees, Chair of the Derby Homes Board, said: “Maria’s background and knowledge of housing in Derby and the issues surrounding it will be a great asset in her new role at Derby Homes.”

Maria will officially take up her new role on 4 April 2005.
