BABY UNIT TO BENEFIT FROM STAFF DONATION - October 2006

Staff from Derby Homes, who manage and maintain Derby City Council homes, have donated £500 to the Baby Unit at Derbyshire Children’s Hospital. This brings employee donations to the Children’s Hospital in 2006 to just under £2000.

The funds were a raised by staff participation in payroll giving, a tax-free, charitable donation scheme. Employees from Derby Homes selected a charity that would benefit some of the youngest citizens of Derby - including those needing intensive care at the hands of the specialist team.

The money raised will go towards the purchase of equipment to help care for the babies. Phil Davies, Chief Executive of Derby Homes said: “Each year the staff of Derby Homes select a charity for the year, and then set about raising funds for it. I think the £2000 raised is a great achievement, and will be of benefit to many babies and mums “
