FUN DAY FOR MORLEY AND MACKWORTH TENANTS - August 2006

Residents of Mackworth were recently treated to a fun day at the Diocesan Centre in Mornington Crescent, organised by members of Derby Homes’ Morley and Mackworth Community Panel.

Visitors to the fun day, held on Saturday 5th August, enjoyed a bouncy castle, ferret stall and a variety of competitions, including a ‘guess the number of buttons’ challenge. It was a great day to raise awareness about the panel and to get younger members of the community involved.

The Morley and Mackworth Community Panel are made up of tenants and leaseholders that meet to discuss community issues and housing services with Derby Homes’ staff.

Dennis Rees, Chair of Derby Homes said: “The fun-day was an excellent opportunity to promote the Panel to tenants and residents in the area. We managed to raise awareness of our work whilst having fun.”

There are a total of thirteen Community Panels across Derby that work in partnership with staff from Derby Homes and other agencies. If you are interested in finding out more about how to get involved or would like to contact your local Community Panel about housing issues in your area, please contact Paul Cole, Tenant Participation Officer, on 01332 711053 or email paul.cole@derbyhomes.org#.
