Derby Homes, the managing agent for Derby City Council’s 14,000 council houses, will be holding re-elections for a tenant and a leaseholder to join Derby Homes Board.

Council tenants living in the North East area of Derby, covering Sussex Circus, Cowsley/Derwent, Chaddesden Park or Spondon and leaseholders living in any area of the city have until 30 August 2006 to register their nominations. Elections will take place between 18 September and 19 October 2006.

The successful candidates will be involved in helping to improve and develop Derby Homes’ services.

Phil Davies, Chief Executive, said: “Tenant and leaseholder Board members play a vital role in maintaining the high quality of our housing service. They are our customer experts, and work with Councillor and Independent Board members. The Board leads the organisation and sets our future goals. They work closely with staff and together we aim to create a successful team. If there are council tenants in the North-East of Derby and leaseholders across the city who can help us improve council housing in Derby then I would ask them to put themselves forward for election.”
