Welcoming new tenants to Derby Homes

From 4 April this year, Derby Homes has taken over the day-to-day management of Northern Counties Housing Association properties in Derby.

Last year, changes within Northern Counties meant that they would no longer have a local presence in Derby. As a responsible landlord, Northern Counties were concerned that residents in their 191 properties should continue to receive a high level of service.

Derby Homes are perfectly placed to take over the role. Proposals were put to Northern Counties’ residents through extensive consultation and after positive feedback; a Management Agreement was drawn up between Derby Homes and Northern Counties.

Northern Counties’ residents will enjoy the same levels of service as Derby Homes’ tenants, which will include:
• reporting their repairs to the Enquiry Centre
• reporting day to day issues through the local housing offices
• access to the Community Watch Patrol and Tenancy Enforcement   Team, if they suffer from nuisance from neighbours or anti-social behaviour in general.

We hope that Northern Counties’ residents will join Derby Homes’ community panels and work with our tenants to improve our estates.
