Children's Community Panel

Two months ago Derby Homes approached the Sinfin Primary School and put forward the idea of setting up a Children's Community Panel, which would address issues in the community such as regeneration, ASB and social activities.

The panel consists of a Chair - Declan, Vice -Chair Liam, and ten other panel members. Other panel attendees consist of the Head Teacher, Judith Lloyd Williams, members of the Sinfin Residence Community Panel,  Derby Homes staff, Jenny Veater Smith, Lee Wheatley, Wendy Jessop, Ray Gibson from the Community Safety Partnership, the Police, and the three Local Councillors.So far the Children's Community Panel has arranged to undertake a litter pick across the estate and have also been involved in planning and starting up  allotments on the school grounds which will be looked after and maintained by the children as part of their school curriculum.

All points raised at the panel meetings are minuted and are discussed and fed into the evening resident's panel meeting. The names of the children that attend the Children's Community Panel are:Djamilla, Bailey, Declan -Chair, Liam -Vice Chair, Justine, Paul,Rhiannon, Jade, Jordan, Elise, Kelly, Tyler.
