Working in partnership to provide job opportunities
April sees the launch of the Pilot Construction Project. Derby Homes working in partnership to provide training for eight people in the construction trade.
The project is a national first and aims to train unemployed people through on-site training and day release at college. Trainees can achieve a multi-skilled construction NVQ qualification approved by the Construction Industry Training Board, CITB as well as practical training in the work place.
After the first year, placement providers are encouraged to offer full time employment so that the trainees can continue with their studies and training.
The Pilot Construction Project is a Positive Action Initiative. Derby Homes is working in partnership with Derwent Builds, Derwent New Deal for Communities and Derby City Council Commercial Services.
