Promoting health and well-being

Liberation Day is Derby’s annual extravaganza of entertainment and information for the over 50s.  Throughout the day there will be free help and advice on:

•  leisure services   
•  benefits
•  adult learning   
•  community safety
•  independent living  
•  health and social care
•  transport    
•  voluntary organisations
•  pensions    
•  advice services.

We are again inviting amateur entertainers to step into the limelight for the Silver Stars Talent Contest.  Twelve amateur entertainers including singers, dancers, musicians, magicians and comedians will be putting on a day of great performances for you to enjoy.  Last year the standard was high - this year the sky’s the limit!

Please join us for an enjoyable day of free information and entertainment.  The day also gives you the chance to tell us how we can improve services in the city. 

There will be a free snack, music, prizes, give-aways and bingo.

Getting there and getting home

Please telephone 01332 380738 before Monday 4 April if you think you may have difficulty getting to the event.  You may be entitled to use our free minibus service. 

Extra help on the day

We know that some of you can only come along if you get a bit of extra help during the day.  We offer a free supporters service, which means you can enjoy Liberation Day knowing that you will be looked after.  The Supporters’ Service needs to be booked in advance.  Please call 08000 323 235 by Monday 4 April to book the service for yourself or someone you know.
