CONFERENCE MARKS WORK ON IMPROVING HOMES
Last November at the fifth annual Housing Investment Conference we celebrated 18 months of hard work on improving homes in the city. The conference was held at the Riverside Centre, Pride Park and it included looking at the future beyond the Homes Pride Programme, a guest speaker from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) and presentations by all our strategic partners. Tenants, leaseholders Community Panel members, Derby Homes' staff and Councillors were all invited.
Our partners - Bramall Construction, Derby City Council Commercial Services Department, Lovell Partnerships Ltd and Vinshire Plumbing and Heating Ltd put up displays and presented their best working practices at the event.
Shaun Bennett, Derby Homes' Director of Investment and Regeneration said: “Together, as a working partnership, we are committed to providing an exceptional service for our tenants. Everyone involved in improving homes in the city has given the project 110%. We now need to continue to keep up the good work until the end of the programme to make sure we achieve the decent home standard for all council homes by April 2006.”
A prize draw raffle was held and we raised £151.94 for two charities, RSPCA and Cancer Research UK. The prizes were donated by our partners and included a DVD player, Gift Vouchers and a chocolate fondue set.
